Energy efficiency improvements:
The grant was used to fund a variety of energy efficiency improvements, including:

  • Installing new windows and insulation
  • Replacing the heating and cooling systems
  • Installing LED lighting
  • Upgrading the dormitories’ energy management system

179D tax deduction:
The dormitories estimate that they will save over $2 million on energy costs as a result of these improvements.
